Teaching Philosophy
It is my career goal to help my students grow both as individuals and as intellectuals. I want to help students cultivate a curiosity for different things and a motivation to learn throughout their lives. It is satisfying for me when everything clicks for a student and they start to understand new concepts. I believe it is important for students to be engaged and have fun while they are learning, and so I like to supplement the curriculum with technological resources, games, movement activities, hands-on activities, projects, and read-alouds.
My philosophy is that it is important to be positive in the classroom, and that also applies to behavior management. In addition, I believe one of the paths towards achievement in the classroom comes through differentiated instruction. I have experience delivering such instruction to a variety of ages of students with regular or special needs.

Home to School Communication
I believe teachers and parents are partners in a child’s education. I like to work with parents to develop a plan that will best bring their child success in the classroom and frequently communicate with families through phone calls, messages, and weekly newsletters. Additionally, I believe that we should celebrate students’ successes, and I like to communicate that with parents as well. This could take the form of a positive note home, a phone call, an email, or inviting families into the classroom for special events like celebrations.
